Inspired by the Academy’s official seal, engraved in silver by Paul Revere in 1782, each icon is designed to represent one of three Strategic Priorities: Equity & Inclusion, Creativity & Innovation, Empathy & Balance. Like the Strategic Plan itself, connecting founding principles and future aspirations, the icons also help to illustrate intentional evolution. While Revere’s work remains the exemplary symbol of Phillips Academy, the interpretations above give us an opportunity to consider the seal’s nuanced visual details and what they might represent today.
